The UNLV American Marketing Association's Board is comprised of disciplined students who have gone above and beyond what is asked of them. The AMA Board is diverse group of students, each sharing their own unique qualities and insights. They possess leadership and management qualities that have allowed for this collegiate chapter to excel.
Hans is a senior at UNLV, where he is on track to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Marketing, as well as a minor in German Studies. As a Co-President of AMA, he oversees chapter operations and runs the chapter website. Hans also serves as a UNLV Lee Business School Ambassador, providing positive impression on new and prospective students in leading by example. Last Spring, he had the opportunity to live abroad in Lüneburg Germany, studying German language and culture.
Thuriya Sai is a senior at UNLV and majoring in marketing. As the Co-President of the most successful organization in the business school, he strives to uphold the reputation of the student run organization by building relationships with the faculty, students, and the marketing community in the Las Vegas Valley.
Jorge is a senior marketing student at UNLV. He serves as a Co-President of the UNLV AMA. This is his fourth year as a member of the AMA. As president he provides leadership, helps with communications, and oversees chapter operations. He is also a Lee Business School Ambassador. His involvement on campus gives him the opportunity to represent the business school and the AMA at multiple events throughout the school year. This is his last year at UNLV and he plans to make it his best!
Sam Venezia - VP of membership
Sam is our Vice President of membership. She encourages prospective students to join our organization by engaging students on classroom visits, creating visual boards on membership expectations and perks, and operating our involvement booth during campus events. Sam is also a Lee Business School Student Ambassador, where she works with a small, elite group of students that represent the business college at UNLV. Sam is a very social and extroverted scholar on campus, which makes her a perfect fit for her position on our executive board.
Simri Bautista - VP of Programs
Simri is a senior at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, pursuing a career in marketing. He has been a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) for two years, serving as vice president of programs this academic term. As Vice President of Programs, his duties revolve around creating programs that develop the skills of chapter members and expands their understanding of marketing careers. At the university, he is involved as a Lee Business School Ambassador, representing the school at professional and community events. In the community, he volunteers as a member of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Professionals and Students (APS), bringing educational and life resources to low income communities.
Sam Katschke - VP of Community Impact
Sam is the Vice President of Community Impact for UNLV American Marketing Association. Her role is to provide volunteer opportunities for the UNLV AMA members that have a significant impact on the community and people's lives. These opportunities demonstrate UNLV AMA’s commitment to the greater good of the community in which it operates. In addition to being involved in AMA, Sam is the President of the Lee Business School Ambassador organization. Her favorite piece of advice is to get comfortable being uncomfortable, for "growth and comfort do not exist" (Ginni Rometty).
Monica Pechous - VP of Communications
Monica Pechous is a senior pursuing Bachelor's degrees in both Marketing and Communications. As VP of Consulting, her role is focused on helping UNLV's AMA chapter partner with local organizations with the goal of providing unpaid marketing assistance and insight in our community. Beyond AMA, Monica is also heavily involved on campus as a Lee Business School Ambassador and an officer in Sigma Kappa, Panhellenic Council, and the National Communication Association. After graduation, she plans on attending law school in hopes of eventually working in international or corporate law.
Deniz Baloglu - VP of Finance
Deniz Baloglu is the VP of Finance who mainly deals with handling the chapter's funds. He is a marketing and finance double major which made him the perfect candidate for this position. He is the one who handles membership applications, budgeting, and also manages the bank account. He is also a founding member of UNLV Fintech and will graduate at the end of 2017.
