2017-18 ama mary kay case competition
The AMA Collegiate Case Competition, began in 1986, is a yearlong event that brings together top marketing students to work on a marketing challenge submitted by a sponsoring organization. The Case sponsor provides a detailed marketing problem for which it is looking to gain the perspective of AMA’s best students, who will compete by developing a marketing strategy in a nationally recognized competition. The Case Competition is open to undergraduate student teams at schools that have an affiliated AMA Collegiate Chapter. This year the sponsoring organization is Mary Kay, an iconic beauty brand built by a woman for women. The core mission of the company is to enrich the lives of women through outstanding products, an unequaled business opportunity and charitable efforts that impact women’s issues.

Dean White is the current VP of Collegiate Relations for the AMA Las Vegas professional chapter. With a masters degree from UNLV, he teaches marketing at the University of Phoenix, and leads the sales and marketing efforts for HDW Property Management. Previously, he held numerous positions with the Review-Journal, where he worked for nearly two decades.
Guest Speaker bill brown
With degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration, he has worked in the corporate world in marketing, program management, and sales. He has first-hand experience in business presentations and has also worked in radio broadcasting and voice-over narration, where he learned how you can use your voice to make a presentation more effective.
Guest Speaker Shahab Zargari
Shahab Zargari is an award-winning filmmaker with a passion for art, photography, music, and creative advertising. He graduated in 2000 from the University of California at Irvine with a degree in Sociology, and a minor in Education. He is currently part owner of Higher Ground Creative Agency, and President-Elect of AMA LV.
Guest Speaker Kitty Lusby
As an adult, Kitty has found that content marketing and copywriting are perfect for legitimately exercising those writing skills. In early 2014, she moved to the Las Vegas area on a whim after enjoying a taco during a cross-country road trip, and fell passionately in love with the city, its downtown culture, and its abundance of 24 hour taco restaurants.
